Kindred Circle — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-06
Kindred Circle ("the app") is operated by Harms Tech LLC ("we", "us"), a Pennsylvania limited liability company. Kindred Circle helps families privately coordinate care for a loved one. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Kindred Circle is offered in the United States and is not directed to, or offered in, the European Union / EEA or the United Kingdom.
Some of the information you enter is consumer health data. How we handle that category — and your specific rights over it — are described in our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to function. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- Account identity (Sign in with Apple). When you sign in, Apple gives us a stable, app-specific identifier (
sub) and — only if you choose to share it — your email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address). We never receive your Apple password. - Your name as you enter it, shown on the care entries you create.
- Care information you enter. Medications and doses, meals and hydration, blood pressure readings, appointments, hospitalizations, coverage schedules, bulletin and posts, comments, care contacts, and any notes or photos you add. Some of this is health-related information about the person being cared for.
- Photos you attach to posts or contacts, or upload as your profile avatar (we strip embedded location/EXIF metadata on upload; avatars are shown only to members of families you share).
- Device notification token. If you enable notifications, we store your device's push token (encrypted) so we can deliver care alerts.
How we use it
- To provide the service: store and sync your family's care information across the members you invite, and authenticate you.
- To send notifications about care events (e.g. a new post, a medication reminder, an appointment reminder, or a coverage change). If you enable notifications, lock-screen alerts may include limited structured context by default — such as a family member's display name, the care recipient's display name, and the date/time of a schedule item — so you can tell what happened and where to go. Notifications do not include free-form medical or care details such as post/comment text, slot notes, medication names or doses, appointment titles/locations/notes, diagnosis details, contact details, attachment names, or uploaded file metadata; those details stay behind your sign-in.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to track you.
Who can see your information
- Members of your family group. Care information is visible to the people you (or another admin) invite to that family. It is not public.
- Service providers we rely on: Apple (Sign in with Apple, and Apple Push Notification service for notifications) and Cloudflare (hosting, database, and photo storage). They process data on our behalf to run the service.
Retention and deletion
- We keep your information while your account is active.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This is immediate: your personal information is scrubbed (your email and name are removed, your sessions and notification tokens are revoked) and the Sign-in-with-Apple grant is revoked. Care entries you authored may retain a generic "Deleted member" label so the family's history stays coherent.
- An admin can delete a family, which immediately removes that family's care content and photos.
- Deleting your account does not cancel any subscription — subscriptions are billed by Apple; manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings.
Your privacy rights (U.S. state laws)
Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or Washington under the My Health My Data Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to know how it is used. We do not sell personal information.
- Delete: available in-app at any time (Settings → Delete account), as described above.
- Access / a copy of your data: email us at the address below and we will provide the personal information associated with your account.
We are a consumer application and are not a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate; Kindred Circle does not provide medical advice and is not a medical record or medical device.
Children's privacy
Kindred Circle is intended for adults coordinating care. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app is rated 17+.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (our database and photo storage are encrypted at rest by our infrastructure provider; notification and Apple tokens are additionally encrypted by the app). Access to a family's information is limited to its invited members.
Your choices
- Turn notifications on/off in iOS Settings or in the app's notification preferences.
- Choose whether to share your email when signing in with Apple.
- Delete your account or family in-app at any time.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
