Kindred Circle — Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-06
This policy describes how Harms Tech LLC ("we", "us") handles consumer health data in the Kindred Circle app. It supplements our Privacy Policy; where this policy and the general policy differ on health data, this policy controls. We are a consumer application and are not a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate — this is not regulated health-record or clinical software.
What consumer health data we collect
In Kindred Circle, caregivers enter information about a loved one in order to coordinate their care. The categories of consumer health data we collect are the ones you choose to enter:
- Medications and dose tracking;
- Blood pressure readings;
- Meals and hydration;
- Appointments and hospitalizations;
- Care coverage schedules, posts/bulletins, comments, and care contacts that may reference health-related details;
- Photos you attach (with embedded location/EXIF metadata stripped on upload).
We do not derive, infer, or purchase health data about you, and we do not collect precise geolocation.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use consumer health data only to provide the service you requested — to store, sync, and display a loved one's care information to the family members you invite, and to send notifications about care events. If notifications are enabled, lock-screen alerts may include limited structured context by default (for example, display names and schedule dates/times), but not free-form care content such as post/comment text, notes, medication names or doses, appointment titles/locations, diagnosis details, contact details, or attachment/file names. We do not use consumer health data for advertising or profiling.
We do not sell consumer health data
We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have no analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
Who we share it with
We share consumer health data only with:
- The family members you invite to a given family, who can see that family's care information.
- Processors that run the service on our behalf, under contract and only to operate Kindred Circle: Apple (Sign in with Apple; Apple Push Notification service) and Cloudflare (hosting, database, and photo storage). These providers are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.
We may disclose data if required by law (e.g., a valid legal request), and never sell it.
Your rights over your consumer health data
- Access: you may request a copy of the consumer health data associated with your account by emailing us at the address below.
- Delete: you may delete your account in the app at any time (Settings → Delete account); this immediately scrubs your personal information and revokes access. An admin can delete a family, which immediately removes that family's care content and photos. (Care entries you authored may keep a generic "Deleted member" label so the family's history stays coherent.)
- Withdraw consent: because we collect this data only to provide the service, you withdraw your consent by deleting the relevant content, the family, or your account. Withdrawing consent stops further use; it does not affect processing already performed.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not deny you the core service for exercising a privacy right, and we do not require a fee.
Consent
By entering consumer health data into Kindred Circle, you consent to our collecting and processing it as necessary to provide the care-coordination service you requested, as described in this policy. We do not collect or use consumer health data beyond that purpose without obtaining your separate, affirmative consent.
Retention
We keep consumer health data while your account/family is active. When you delete a family or your account, the associated care content is erased immediately (subject to the disclosed "Deleted member" historical-label exception). See the Privacy Policy for details.
